A much better marker piece, I really like how the warm and cool greys blend. :) Evil peacock is gonna smack you with his wing!

Updated logo! :) More hairy, and the wee bee feet are more accurate.
‘Pedipalps’ is a funny word.

More work on this, including a lines makeover for the sketchy parts and a little more refinement on colors, details, and contrast. It’s closer to what I want.
Top is image by itself, bottom is image on intended background texture.

This could use some critique! Tell me what you think.
How do you feel about the yellowy/gold color? Is the background texture strong enough?
I’ll tell you what it’s for, later. :D

Whatever it is, it’s charcoal and 3 feet wide.

An illustration for a package of flaming hot brownie mix from hell! This prompt from the client came with an adorable Photoshop rendering of what they wanted. It’s Dr. Paul Bosland, discoverer of the Bhut Jolokia, or Ghost Pepper…with interesting things added in, such as a giant brownie and a demon chile.

My try at a Book of Kells-style typography for Sancto Scorpio hot sauce. This ended up used as background detailing for the Sancto Scorpio label.
Also, the typo in there? Not my fault. Client said the product was called Sancto Scorpo and didn’t change it to Scorpio until I’d already made this, hehe.

Mascot and food label for Sancto Scorpio hot sauce, sold by the Chile Pepper Institute. It features the Scorpion, the even hotter cousin of Bhut Jolokia (or Ghost Pepper chile, aka Pain-Flavored Chile).
The medieval type is hand-drawn too! BY ME, OF COURSE.

Remember that series of rotating fox face sketches I did? I tried out some coloring tricks. I’m not 100% happy with the shape of Saskira’s head, but I think I like how this coloring style is working out better than the half-shaded, half-lineart thing I tried earlier.

@aidosaur Fanart for you! I love your Maw concept.

Speedpaint in Photoshop, composition’s mine but the colors and textures were referenced from this photo. Photographer unknown, but if you find out their name, please let me know and I’ll be happy to credit further.
I dunno, it’s been rough for me lately, I just got into one of those moods where I look at everything I do and think no one should be subjected to viewing it, haha. I must soldier on, though.

And here’s all the random odds and ends from the project. They’re all assembled to fit on a giant 2 ft by 4 ft poster.
