Inspired by James Gurney’s lovely drawing of an ear.
SCHNOZZ.
Friend lends me her Copic markers for a few hours. This started out as a raccoon being heroic, but then she requested it become a Tanuki (hence the balls), and then the red marker shading looked kinda like blood so now this raccoon is just bailing from the scene of the crime while in a fireman hat.
As you can see I have no idea how Copics work, but once told that they were like watercolors I got a better idea.
The last 20 minute pose of the day! I’m afraid my drapery came out pretty awkward because I forgot to add it in til the last minute, but there are other parts that I think I rendered well.
Graphite on sketchbook paper.
Feels sooooo good to be drawing from a model again! Thank you thank you cheap life model sessions at the college on Saturday, I knew I moved out here for a reason. <3
20 minute pose, graphite in sketchbook.
Oh I forgot to put this here, but I’m testing some cartoony-style shading.
The bear’s design is already different! I needed him to look more like a bear and less like…Some circles smushed together.
Updated logo! :) More hairy, and the wee bee feet are more accurate.
‘Pedipalps’ is a funny word.
I noodled with Kazerad’s original lizard girl design and decided, in order to make it more strange, I’d add bee claws and fuzz.
Combining things that are currently popular: Robots. Ponies. Dinosaurs.
A HIT NEW SHOW IS BORN!!
